Wisodm tooth sugery medication
I had a surgical wisdom tooth extraction and was prescribed Amoxyclini 500mg 3 times a day for 5 days. But by mistake I took 2 times a day for 4 days. Should I continue to take 3 tabs a day for the next 2 days or just take 2 tab for one more day and stop the course? Or should i take 2 tabs/day for 7 days now and stop the course? Please advice.

It's best to consult your prescribing dentist or a healthcare professional for specific advice regarding your medication. That being said, here are a few points to consider: Follow Prescribed Dosage: It's important to follow the prescribed dosage instructions provided by your dentist or healthcare provider. Taking antibiotics as prescribed helps ensure their effectiveness and reduces the risk of antibiotic resistance. Contact Your Dentist: Since you've taken a lower dose for a shorter duration than originally prescribed, it's a good idea to contact your dentist and inform them about the situation. They can advise you on whether you should continue the course as prescribed or if any adjustments are needed. Don't Adjust Dosage Without Guidance: It's generally not recommended to adjust your medication dosage without the guidance of a healthcare professional. They will take into consideration factors such as the type of infection, your overall health, and the specific antibiotic. Finish the Course: If your dentist advises you to continue the course, make sure to take the remaining doses as prescribed, even if it means extending the treatment duration. Preventing Future Errors: To avoid medication errors, it's helpful to set reminders or alarms for taking your medication on time. Always prioritize getting advice from your healthcare provider for any questions or concerns about your medication. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
