Hello mam,
A wisdom tooth is one which fails to erupt in at a given time and space.
Causes pericoronitis, crowding , dental caries and difficulty in opening the mouth.
Treatment will be extraction . Followed by antibiotic course .
For time being you can use a flexon tablet 2 times a day.
Is your wisdom tooth not grown i.e Still inside the bone and gums, partially grown or fully grown? If not grown can cause you pain in the jaw and mouth opening problems and also swelling in that region. If it is so take Tab Dan-P 500mg twice a day for 3days (after meals) and Tab Rentec twice a day for 3 days (before meals). I hope you are not having any allergies to any medication. So before taking please get assured and then only proceed. The doctor may prescribe you the same of same kind. This pain will be occur every 3-6 months until the tooth erupts. If the tooth is partially grown then you must be having a swelling over the gums surrounding that tooth and also that area must be getting traumatised by the upper of the lower adjacent or erupted tooth. This causes swelling of gums called pericoronitis. For this please have the above meds plus Metrogyl gel-it should only be applied over the swollen area. And if the tooth is fully erupted and is tilled causing you pain in jaw opening, swelling and pain radiating to the temple and back of the head, do get one xray done and the only treatment is removal of that tooth ASAP, before it damages the adjacent tooth.
Do visit your dentist soon. Take care.
