Hello sir
You need to clean your baby’s teeth as soon as you start seeing them in his/ her mouth.
U need to get one finger brush which is available easily at all leading pharmacy stores.
Also as in the case of kids it is advised to get professional consultation done every three months as they have very dynamic changes in their mouth.
There is a way of cleaning your baby’s teeth that we can help you with on a video consultation also we can explain you well how and when you should clean them.
Thanks
Start brushing your baby's teeth as soon as you see them come through. initially just try to clean teeth with clean soft cloth, later use a baby toothbrush with a small amount of fluoride toothpaste.
Hi there,
I appreciate your care and concern towards your child's dental health.
As milk teeth are very soft compared to adult teeth, they become cavitated easily. Food particles (solid, liquid), that stay on teeth for so long, causes cavities
Yes, you can start brushing as soon as the tooth erupts. Use baby brush or finger brush, whichever you're comfortable using.
1. Twice brushing is mandatory. Especially after night food/feed.
2. Wipe the teeth surfaces with soft cotton cloth/gauze dipped in warm water after every feed/food.
Kindly use non-fluoridated paste to brush your child's teeth, since kids swallow paste easily due to it's flavour. Fluoride is harmful if swallowed. Can use fluoride free pastes till the age of 3 to 4, till the kid learns how to spit out, after which you can start fluoridated ones.
For kids brushing techniques (yes, there are methods and techniques too), kindly refer to online videos, as we have so many good demo videos given by docs.
Take care and happy parenting!
