You might have a lingering viral cough or mild throat infection. Since it’s been 10 days, it's best to get checked to rule out any infection. What you can do for now: 1] Stay hydrated and take warm fluids. 2] Try steam inhalation to loosen mucus. 3] Avoid cold drinks and dusty places.
Health Tips
Since the cough is still there, I’d recommend a quick online consultation to check if any medication is needed. Let’s get it sorted! 😊

Dear Patient,  A persistent wet cough with yellow mucus and throat discomfort for 10 days suggests a likely **respiratory tract infection**, such as acute bronchitis or a mild sinusitis draining into the throat. Here’s what you should know:  1. Possible Causes:     - Postnasal drip (from sinus/nasal inflammation)     - Acute bronchitis (viral or early bacterial)     - Mild pneumonia (if symptoms worsen)  2. Current Symptoms:     - The shift from yellow to scant mucus may indicate resolving infection, but lingering cough warrants evaluation.  3. Caution with Self-Medication:     - Antibiotics (like Cefixime) are unnecessary unless bacterial infection is confirmed. Overuse can lead to resistance.     - Zerodol SP (painkiller) and Montek LC (antiallergic) may mask symptoms without addressing the root cause.  4. Next Steps:     - Hydration & Steam Inhalation: Helps loosen mucus.     - Avoid irritants: Smoke, cold foods/drinks.     - Monitor: Fever, worsening mucus color, or breathlessness need urgent attention.  Consultation Advised:  A physical exam (throat, chest, lymph nodes) and tests (if needed, like CBC or chest X-ray) can pinpoint the issue. Let’s ensure this isn’t progressing or complicating.  For a thorough assessment, reach out to me on WhatsApp at **Eight Zero Zero Nine Eight Two One Three Three Two**.
