Hello, Thank you for the query. Will surely help you. You can drink 10-12 glasses of water per day. For your mother, it needs to be checked if she has any edema or salt restriction as prescribed by the doctor and then her fluid requirements can be planned. Hope this information helps. For a customised diet plan through an online or an in-person consultation, you can reach out to me via practo or on www.vasundhara.me . Thanks

To calculate the water intake : Divide your body weight (kg) by 30. And add 0.45 for every 30 min. Exercise. (It varies according to age and illness , this is ideal formula to calculate water intake) Your water intake will be around 1.73 litres each day (without including any exercise ) Whereas your mother is old and have hypertension , thus she requires more water intake which may likely to 2-3 litres and she requires to have low salt and low fat diet. Also to avoid spicy food.
