Water Break at week 19
Hello doctor,i am 19weeks pregnant,i had my cerclage done at week 14 .Before few days my doctor told me that my cervix is diluted and only the cerclage part is there to hold the baby and told me to take complete bed rest.But from yesterday my water is leaking so i Just wanna ask you that is there any home remedy to maintain the AFI???I mean does coconut water or normal water intake can help to maintain AFI???

Hello, welcome to practo.com if whole of water  is drained  induction of labor should be done urgently  and inj should be given for lung maturity,imediately go for ultrasound to confirm and go and admit in Hospital without any wait.

There is no home remedy to maintain AFI. It depends on how big is the leak in the bag of waters. If the leak is in the lower part of the bag then all liquor will suddenly escape without any warning and baby will be expelled after some time. If it is a high leak then the rate of escape of liquor will be slow. Liquor is being simultaneously produced. So, for many days the amount of liquor doesn't decrease. Either way there is risk of infection and some other complications. For more information please consult with me on Practo

Nothing will help as per studies but u can increase your fluid intake. some sachet might help too.
