I am 12 weeks pregnant. Got silver filling done on two of my teeth two days back. But later came to know that it contains mercury which might be harmful for me and baby. I also learnt that even the removal process of such mercury amalgam fillings can be toxic and needs special safety procedures for safe removal as mercury generated vapour which can be inhaled.
I want to know where in Delhi-ncr can i get mercury filling removed where appropriate safety guidelines are being followed.
Kindly help me as i am quite apprehensive about this.

Hello,
There is nothing to worry. Do not replace the fillings now if you are not facing any issues. However for the sake of cosmetic reason you can get it done after your pregnancy.
Health Tips
Focus on your overall health now and no need to panic about the fillings
Donot panic.
A amalgam filling is totally safe.
A removal now might cause complications like swallowing bits or amalgam tattoo etc.
Its better to leave it there itself.
There is no need to panic about an amalgam filling. Mercury is not in a free state to cause any health issues. Moreover it is globally well accepted and time immemorial. Anyone who says about such stupid things may be due to their ignorance.
Well another thing is nowadays many tooth colored filling material have come and it has replaced the amalgam. In my clinical practice I have totally stopped using amalgam fillings and give tooth colored fillings. Mainly due to their aesthetic concern and patients acceptance and not due to any other reasons.
