Vitamin D deficiency
I recently got myself tested and got to know my Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy values is 16.91. I consulted a physician and he injected me arachitol 6L IU injection and told me after 15 days to start taking a vitamin D supplement of 60k IU once a week for 10 consecutive weeks. I would like to know if after taking a mega dose, do I still need to take pills as well because one is the substitute of the other. I am doubtful if this is going to increase my level above the safe limit.

You have deficiency in vitamin d.Treatment is either 2 injections 2 months apart or orally every week once for 10-12 weeks. In your case you have received one injection form and to follow with oral form which is alright. A week or 2 after you complete the 10 weeks treatment , recheck vitamin d level Calcium supplement daily is helpful
