Vitamin B test
Hi Dr, i just had renerve plus injection when i went for loose stool issue. My question is, if i take a vitamin B blood test now, will that be valid result or should i have to wait for X days/weeks before checking the Vit B level?

No, testing right after a Renerve Plus injection will not give you a true picture. That injection contains a large dose of B12, so your blood level will read high for several weeks regardless of your actual stores. Many people get labelled 'normal B12' this way and the real deficiency gets missed.
Next Steps
Wait at least 4 to 6 weeks after the last injection before checking serum B12 - and if the report has to be done sooner, ask for homocysteine instead, which is not affected the same way. Also do let your doctor know about the loose stools if they are still continuing, since long-standing diarrhoea itself can cause B12 and other deficiencies.

You should wait at least 1 to 2 weeks after taking a single dose of Renerve Plus (which contains a high 1500 mcg dose of methylcobalamin/vitamin B12) to get an accurate, unskewed blood test
Check your serum B12 levels and only after 2weeks since ur last renerve plus injection

Hi, no, testing Vitamin B12 right after taking a Renerve Plus injection won't give an accurate result — the injected B12 will show up in your blood and falsely raise your reading, even if your actual body stores are low.
