Dear Patient, Based on your Widal test report, here’s what your results mean: Widal Test Interpretation: S. Typhi 'O' Agglutination 1:80: This indicates a response to the O antigen of Salmonella Typhi, which can be seen in acute typhoid fever but may also appear in other conditions. S. Typhi 'H' Agglutination 1:80: This indicates a response to the H antigen, which generally reflects past infection or immunity. What Does It Mean? 1:80 titer is borderline and can be seen in early stages of typhoid fever or as a non-specific response. It’s not a definitive diagnosis on its own. Other factors, such as clinical symptoms (fever, abdominal pain, weakness) and a rising titer (repeated tests) are needed to confirm active typhoid.
Next Steps
Consult your doctor: They may recommend a repeat Widal test after a few days or more specific tests, like a blood culture, which is more accurate for diagnosing typhoid. Monitor for symptoms: Fever, gastrointestinal issues, and fatigue are key signs of typhoid infection. It's important to get a clear diagnosis before starting any treatment, so please consult your healthcare provider for a proper evaluation. Let me know if you need further assistance!

Based on the Widal test results you provided, where both S. Typhi 'O' and S. Typhi 'H' agglutination is seen at a dilution of 1:80, it indicates a potential typhoid infection. However, the absence of agglutination for S. Paratyphi 'AH' and S. Paratyphi 'BH' suggests that it is less likely you are suffering from paratyphoid fever. In interpreting Widal test results, it's essential to consider clinical symptoms, history, and other laboratory findings, as this test can sometimes yield false-positive results due to cross-reactivity with other infections. I recommend avoiding fried and spicy foods, increasing your water intake, and incorporating green leafy vegetables and fruits into your diet. However, for a comprehensive evaluation and appropriate treatment plan, please consult me directly. You can also reach out to me via WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further assistance.
