I know loosing weight can be frustrating but Maintaining a good diet and daily 1 hr workout does miracles , eating food slowly and try to include protein, veggies in ur diet, eat breakfast early ,avoid sugars,take sweet potato and egg white daily and try to walk atleast 10-15 minutes daily after eating try to avoid rice in the dinner ,have early dinner before 7.30 pm

Since you are 48years start with
1) regular exercise like fast walking -simple walk will not help in reduction of fat it needs to be brisk walk for at least 30min daily
2) eat healthy foods ,avoiding rice is not the answer - avoid sugary foods,processed and fried food -eat only homemade food in moderation
3) if any habits like drinking or smoking should be cut down immediately
4) if possible try cycling or jogging or swimming or playing any sport once a week along with brisk walk
Do Physical exercise, join gym or dance class or yoga class and do brisk walking daily for 30 mins daily.
Have junk food only 2-3 days in a week and healthy food rest of the week, so you don't have depression.
Follow 60-40 rule, eat anything whether healthy or junk but keep 40% stomach empty and 60% full, example :a plate of chole bhature has chole and 2 bhature, you are allowed to eat 1 bhature and chole, that will fill 60% stomach probably.
Stay hydrated, drink 4 to 5 liters of water daily.
Keep foods with low cholesterol, high protein and fiber in diet.
