It's important to consult with a pediatric dentist or pediatrician who can examine your niece's tooth and provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment. When it comes to medication, including antibiotics like amoxicillin, the dosage for children depends on various factors such as weight, medical history, and the severity of the condition. Only a healthcare professional who has evaluated the child's specific situation can determine the appropriate dosage. I recommend contacting your niece's dentist or pediatrician as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. They will be able to assess her condition, diagnose the cause of the toothache, and provide appropriate treatment options, including prescribing antibiotics if necessary. In the meantime, you can encourage your niece to practice good oral hygiene by brushing her teeth gently twice a day and flossing daily. She can also rinse her mouth with warm saltwater to help alleviate some discomfort until she can see a dental professional. Remember, timely professional evaluation and advice are essential for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment for your niece's toothache.

Hi this is her lower left back tooth which is the first molar. Keeping in mind this is her permanent tooth and from the picture the cavity or the extent of decay looks too deep, this tooth requires treatment in order to save it. Toothache is because the decay has progressed to the inner most layer of the tooth called the pulp, infecting it. A root canal treatment would be ideal as the child needs the tooth for chewing further on.
Next Steps
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. Usage of antibiotics is effective along with treatment. Antibiotics only help control the infection and not treat or remove the source of infection. Dosage of the medication is calculated based on the weight of the child. Hence I would advise seeing a dentist and taking antibiotic along with the necessary treatment. Meanwhile you can give the child painkillers to reduce the pain.
Health Tips
Kindly visit the dentist at the earliest.

Kindly visit a dentist to get her treated fro the carious tooth. If the child is in pain, she probably would require an RCT. Don't hold back any treatment indicated. It may lead to bigger troubles and additional cost at later stages or may also result in loss of her tooth. Once the treatment is started, she might not even be requiring any antibiotics! Antibiotics don't take care of pain, they treat infection. And if it's an infected tooth then it requires RCT not medicines.. :)
Next Steps
Take your niece to a good dentist.
