If you have a tooth cavity with a visible black hole, it's important to see a dentist as soon as possible. Leaving a cavity untreated can lead to further decay, pain, infection, and potential tooth loss. Here's what you can do: 1. Schedule an appointment with a dentist. 2. Treatment options: Depending on the severity of the cavity, your dentist may recommend a dental filling, dental crown, or root canal treatment. The choice of treatment will depend on factors such as the size of the cavity, the extent of decay, and the overall health of the tooth. 3. Maintain good oral hygiene: In the meantime, continue to brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and floss daily to prevent further decay and keep the area clean. 4. Avoid sugary foods and drinks: Limit your intake of sugary foods and drinks, as they can contribute to tooth decay. 5. Use temporary measures cautiously: While waiting for your dental appointment, you can use over-the-counter dental filling materials to temporarily cover the cavity and protect the tooth. However, these are not long-term solutions, and seeing a dentist is essential for proper treatment. Remember, early intervention is key to preventing further complications, so don't delay in seeking professional dental care.
