Hi. Root canal treatment is a tooth saving treatment option. The way you have mentioned black infected for the past 2 years and as per Dentists advice, yes it should go for root canal. And Root canal treatment is successful only if it is followed by capping. Cap gives strength to the root canal treated tooth. Treatment cost depends on clinic to clinic but ideally on average it costs 3000rs

Dear patient, I would recommend you to go for Root Canal Treatment without any delay as there is no point keeping an infected and painful tooth in your mouth. So get it treated asap. Also, capping/crowning is very important as it will give you back the lost strength of the tooth. And the cost of any procedure will vary from one dentist to another. So choose the right doctor and go ahead with the treatment. Regards..

Root canal is a very effective treatment modality to eliminate the pain and save the tooth to give it a longer functional life.... a cap/crown is required after the root canal treatment to add strength to the otherwise weekend tooth structure.... the cost of the treatment will vary from city to city and from dentist to dentist..... please make sure to consult your dentist to know about the various options he/she can offer you.... Regards....

Hello, In root canal treatment the infected portion of the teeth is cleaned properly and filled with the suitable material. On top there is a cavity due to the decay which is again filled with a restoration. On top of that a cap is placed. The reason to place a cap is we remove the food supply and nerve supply of the tooth in root canal procedure due to which the strength of the tooth reduces tremendously. In the future it can fracture. Also there is a direct connection between the filling and the canal due to which it can lead to re-infection in the future. So to avoid this the cap is placed. Kindly do not delay the treatment. As now the tooth can be saved. In the future it will go for extraction. On an average the cost for a root canal is 3 thousand rupees. The cap cost varies depending on the material and lab. If possible go for cap made with CAD-CAM technology. Hope this information helps you. Regards, Benchmark Dental Clinic

Hello, Root canal treatment is done in order to save the tooth and it's done by cleaning all the debris from tooth structure and pulp. Once it is cleaned it is filled with an inert material. Yes capping is necessary after Root canal treatment coz once the treatment is done the teeth loses its original strength in order to compensate the strength capping is required so the patient can use the tooth in a natural manner.
