Hi, thank you for sharing. At 14 years, irregular periods are quite common in starting 1-2 years because hormones are still settling. So please don't worry too much. Yes, nutrition can support a lot. What we have seen - when sleep, junk food, less water, and weight gain happens, periods become more irregular. When we correct lifestyle - proper sleep on time, less maida / oily / cold drink, daily 30 min walk, enough water, protein and iron rich home food, then cycle slowly becomes better. It takes 3-4 months, not instant. I would suggest you first consult your family doctor / gynecologist once to rule out any basic deficiency, because at this age we should not give any hormones without doctor advice. You are thinking absolutely right. Nutrition is only support to body, not medicine.connect me for complete diet plan you will get good results. Take care. Dt. Sushma Khandelwal

Yes, nutrition can definitely help support healthy menstrual cycles in a 14-year-old, but irregular periods should not be managed through diet alone. At this age, cycles can be irregular, especially during the first few years after periods begin, as hormones are still maturing. The goal should not be to “stop hormones,” but to identify why her periods are irregular and support normal hormonal development. ● Nutrition can help by ensuring :- 1. Adequate calories and healthy weight — avoid crash diets or meal skipping. 2. Sufficient protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates. 3. Iron, calcium, vitamin D, B12 and other micronutrients. 4.Regular meals, good hydration and adequate sleep. 5.Avoid excessive exercise or restrictive dieting.
Next Steps
Please consult a pediatrician/adolescent gynecologist if the irregularity is persistent or significant. Depending on her history, the doctor may assess thyroid function, iron status, prolactin, PCOS-related symptoms and other possible causes.

Nutrition can support healthy menstrual cycles in a 14-year-old, but irregular periods should not be treated with supplements alone. Periods can be irregular during the first few years after menarche 3 main meals + 2 nutritious snacks; avoid skipping meals or restrictive dieting. * Protein every meal: dal, beans, paneer/curd, milk, eggs, fish/chicken if non-veg. * Iron-rich foods: green leafy vegetables, lentils, rajma/chana, sesame, dates/raisins, eggs/meat if non-veg + vitamin-C foods such as amla, guava, orange. * Calcium + vitamin D: milk/curd/paneer, ragi, sesame; regular safe sunlight exposure. * Healthy fats: nuts/seeds, peanut, sesame, flax/chia, adequate cooking oil. * Plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains. * Limit frequent junk food, sugary drinks and highly processed snacks. * Avoid calorie-restricted weight-loss diets in a growing teenager, particularly if she is underweight or exercising heavily. Low energy intake can contribute to menstrual problems.

Irregular periods in the first couple of years after they start are common and often settle on their own as your body matures.
Next Steps
Good nutrition, sleep, and a healthy weight support cycle regularity, but periods that stay irregular past 2 years need a gynaecologist's evaluation.
Health Tips
Please don't delay that check purely to avoid medication. Finding the cause matters more than avoiding a label.
