Based on the MRI findings, it appears that your knee is showing the effects of overexertion and inadequate recovery.
Management:
- Rest: Allow adequate time for the injured tissues to heal.
- Ice fomentation: Apply ice packs to reduce pain and swelling.
- Supervised physiotherapy (once the pain subsides): Focus on quadriceps and hamstring strengthening, knee range-of-motion exercises, and, if feasible, aqua therapy to improve muscle strength and knee stability.
- Lifestyle modification: Avoid squatting and sitting cross-legged. If you are overweight, gradual weight reduction will help reduce stress on the knee.
After following the above measures, a re-evaluation after 6 weeks is advisable to assess your progress and determine the need for any further treatment.
Note: Please ensure that the lesion in the proximal tibia mentioned in the MRI report is evaluated in person by an orthopaedic consultant, as it requires clinical correlation and, if necessary, further investigation.
