Swollen gums
I am suffering extreme jaw pain since 2-3 days with difficulty in opening mouth wide..there is also swelling of gums behind second molars ..what can be the reason ..I am really scared to visit a dentist ..

Hello dear Please be calm It seems to be due to pericoronitis It needs comprehensive treatment of warm saline rinses and antibiotics gels It can be followed by operculctomy I suggest you to consult any dentist online or offline for details

Hi...the swelling is due to insufficient space for the wisdom tooth to erupt where the food often gets accumulated and causes infection.The condition is called as Pericoronitis.

Add salt in luke warm water and gargle in the affected side for 4-5 times a day to get temporary relief. Advised to do regular dental check up and teeth cleaning every 6 months.

Hello, The swelling is because of the inflammation of gums.. The gums must have over grown there and food debris started accumulating... Need not to worry visit your dentist and get it removed and also see for any impaction and sharp cusp.
