1) If this is first episode of pain and if xray was taken n tooth is straight, ask dentist to smooth out the sharp edge of upper tooth (that is hurting the flap covering the lower wisdom tooth)and remove the flap that is covering third molar(operculectomy) 2) If in xray tooth is angular go for removal of wisdom tooth Only medicines won't help you unless upper teeth sharp edge is not rounded n overlapping skin is not removed.
Next Steps
visit your dentist for X-ray (if not taken) or take second opinion
Health Tips
Antibiotic course is already done so dnt take more meds and continue betadine gargles.

Hello The pictures that you have uploaded clearly indicate that it is pericoronitis, that is a very common infectious condition that occurs due to the non-eruption or incomplete eruption of wisdom tooth. There is a pocket between the teeth and the gums so whenever you eat food, the food lodgement leads to more and more pain and discomfort. The doctor has given you correct medicine but if this pain is occurring again and again you cannot just keep on taking medicines. The permanent solution for it would be to get the wisdom teeth removed. So if you feel that the medicines are not helping you just visit a Maxillofacial surgeon and get the tooth removed as soon as possible
Next Steps
You can definitely get in touch with me. I am a Maxillofacial surgeon and implantologist
