Looking at the history given by you and assuming that you are unable to seek medical care due to corona virus lock down I am giving my opinion. Swelling over one or both ankles can be caused by a number of diseases like 1. over use or increased walking to 2. Anemia 3. Decreased protein in the body 4. Antihypertensive medicines 5.Hypertension 6. Renal problem And numerous other causes
Next Steps
Blood investigations that need to be done are CBC,  CRP, Serum vit D, serum creatinine, liver function test, serum protein, serum electrolytes

If there is no pain. Only swelling might settle down with elevation. Share the picture of leg. Consult orthopaedic dr if there is pain as well. - it might be arthritis or infection or due to injury.

Hi, The information provided is not sufficient. If there is swelling in one leg then it is a local problem, or if it is in bith the legs then it is usually a systematic problem so in such cases you will need the opinion of a physician Now coming to swelling in just one ankle could be due to 1) joint arthritis, 2) tendon strain, 3) ligament sprain. Whatever the reason, rest, crepe bandage, activities as tolerated,  in case of pain mild analgesics like paracetamol.
Next Steps
will need more information to give a more specific treatment plan
