Swelling after sprain or facture?
So yesterday i was playing badminton and my foot landed uncomfortably. My left foot rolled outwards and I felt pain ,after that I was able to walk on my heel of left foot . The pain is on left portion of my foot . Today the it is much more swelled but when I press only a particular area is hurting and that has a very little bulge outwards that can be distinguished from rest of the swelling area. only that area is hurting when i press, rest swelled area is not hurting when I m pressing. I am not able to put weight on my left foot. Only able to walk on my heel.

Likely ankle sprain . Might need an X-ray to rule out fracture . Treatment will depend on severity of injury and swelling . Mild sprain : rest , ice fomentation and pain killers Moderate and severe sprain : might need plaster of Paris slab or cast .
Next Steps
Better to take a orthopaedic consultation to decide treatment

Madam,     You are likely to have a sprain. Use crepe bandage. Take anti inflammatory medications and get X ray done. Regards Dr Prasad
