Sorry to hear about your mum.
An acute swelling in both legs(?) can be a sign of an acute heart related issue on the backdrop of High Blood Pressure and or Diabetes. Both these need to be controlled and checked urgently if not done. Seek an advise from your local GP with the him your mother would have been registered or pay the GP for consultation of an overseas member. Secondly visit the Urgent care centre in your locality in UK and seek advice. Thirdly, you can visit the A/E department of your local service hospital or DGH for assessment. Fourthly, if your mum has private insurance then you can take them to a private cardiologist and or a vascular surgeon . Lastly, obtain help from lymphoedema clinic locally to see if anything they suggest. If she is immobile then there could also be a risk of DVT
Next Steps
Please make a video appointment with my team at Your Pain Clinic or at Doctors hub to help with pain aspect. I may help you with making appointments locally in UK or seeing private practitioner in UK as I have worked there for 23 years. Thanks

You are in the UK. In the UK they will not honour the prescription from an Indian Doctor . In short you are trying to get a haphazard opinion just to complete the formalities.
Please consult a General Physician in the UK by whatever means you can so that a proper scientific treatment can be started.
Hi,
Ensure that she does not hang her legs down much. Keep an extra pillow for the feet when she sleeps
Kindly consult and please have her regular medicine list. Some drugs can cause lower limb swelling.

Swollen legs in a **diabetes and blood pressure patient** can be caused by **fluid retention (edema), poor circulation, or medication side effects**. Since blood tests aren’t possible at the moment, here are some remedies that may help ease the swelling and pain:
Elevate the legs
Compression stockings
Reduce salt intake
Stay hydrated
Gentle movements
If the swelling worsens or is accompanied by **breathing difficulty, chest pain, or sudden weight gain**, seek urgent medical attention.
