Hi. This post is for my wife and she is 31 years old. Her height and weight are 5'2"" and 61.5 Kgs respectively. Please suggest a proper diet in order to loose her weight. She doesn't have any other medical ailments only except external piles. However, she had a scissorian delivery around 4 years back.

Hi, You can reach me through practo for a personalised diet plan for her. As per her age and height her ideal body weight should be 56 kg. A calculated healthy balanced diet as per her height, weight, BMI, lifestyle pattern, health status, digestibility, regular eating habits will help her to lose weight and improve her health. A low calorie, low fat, normal protein, adequate vitamins , minerals and high fibre diet will help her to reduce weight and meet body requirements ( daily energy and nutritional requirements). Here are some helpful tips: Drink plenty of water. Increase fluids in regular diet like nutrition in forms of buttermilk, veg soup . Include whole grain cereals, pulses and legumes, plenty of leafy greens and other vegetables apart from roots and tubers, low glycaemic fruits, egg whites or fish, nuts and seeds, yogurt in your daily diet. Avoid junc foods, canned foods, aerated drinks, sweets, simple carbohydrates and sugar, saturated fats and cholesterol. Daily walk or aerobic exercises for 45 minutes will be helpful.  Do fasting and feasting. Never skip any meals. Maintain proper food intervals as long food gap will not help to reduce weight.
