Sudden darkening gums
My gums have suddenly started getting darker. I think this is a very recent change and I can't think of any lifestyle change that could have caused this. I am 24 female and don't smoke.

Hi Darkening of gums happens because of a pigment in our body called MELANIN. This can expediate due to many reasons like long exposure to sunlight, smoking (not in your case), and it can be without any reason which we might call genetic. It is purely a natural thing and it does not possess any health issues. You can treat this darkening of gums by getting depigmentation done through laser.

Don't worry mam. It's completely natural thing to have such blackish gums. You have a ulcer on lower lip area which needs to be resolved. You can apply orasore gel topically and have multivitamin tablets for 7 days twice daily. Black gums does not cause any health issue but if you find yourself looking bad while smiling then For treatment of black gums you have two options Surgical treatment or treatment via laser
Next Steps
you can consult me for further details

Hi, understand your concern. Melanin pigmentation is responsible for this color of your gum, which is a natural pigment responsible for color of our skin too. Sometimes, harmonal changes or smoking (not applicable to you) can cause this. It's natural and can be lighten by laser therapy, only if aesthetic is real issue . Oral ulcer is seen on lower lip, that might cause discomfort . But dark gums no problem health wise. Can see a dentist for regular check up and cleaning of teeth.
