Stitches not removed after a week
I had my right canine surgically removed which was stuck under my incisors as my right canine is still my birth tooth so it didn't come out. So the surgery was big as they had to remove it and also protect the incisors. After surgery they stitched it and they removed half of the stitches after 10 days and half of them are still not removed. It's been 12 days now and i wanted to know if it's okay to keep stitches for this long.

Stitches are only removed and when socket is towards healing . If the healing is not favourable than the stitches can be left for more couple of days. No need to very regarding sutures. Do warm saline rinses at least 3-4 times a day for a week for better healing in socket area.

Its recommended to leave the stiches in less healed area. So don't worry. Just keep the area clean. Rinse mouth 4 to 5 times with warm salt water.

Hi, Don’t worry. Some stitches are left because there is not sufficient healing. Your doctor will remove all of them once he is satisfied with wound healing.
Next Steps
Follow all the instructions by doctor.

Hi! Absolutely not a problem. Those stitches won't do any harm to you. Might be the dentist want to wait for another couple of days for the healing to occur properly. Don't worry.
Next Steps
Don't miss your appointments and keep that area clean by regular rinsing after any meals.
