xray is mandatory to decide whether hemisectioning can be done or not. And if not hemisectioning than what best can b done will be clear after seeing the xray only. And its not related to cancer anyways.

Hemisection depends on how much part is broken and if there is any pus formation in the bone or bone is healthy. You cannot say it is broken from crown to root without xray. Any dentist after evaluating clinically and xray can tell the final treatment. If there is pus in the bone then it also needs equal attention. It is not a cancer causing condition.
