If you have a sore or ulcer on the inside of your lip, it's essential to consult a healthcare professional or dentist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. They can examine the sore and determine the underlying cause. In the meantime, here are some general tips that may provide relief: Avoid Irritants: Try to avoid spicy, acidic, or hot foods and beverages that may further irritate the sore. Rinse with Saltwater: Gently rinsing your mouth with warm saltwater can help soothe the sore and promote healing. Topical Ointments: Over-the-counter oral gels or ointments containing ingredients like benzocaine or hydrogen peroxide may provide temporary relief. Avoid Touching or Picking: Avoid touching the sore with your fingers or tongue, as it can worsen the irritation and slow down the healing process. Soft Foods: If eating is uncomfortable, choose soft and easy-to-chew foods that don't require much pressure on the sore area. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and keep your mouth moist. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Caffeinated and alcoholic beverages can be drying to the mouth, which may exacerbate the discomfort. Avoid Smoking: If you smoke, consider avoiding smoking until the sore heals, as smoking can delay the healing process. Practice Good Oral Hygiene: Continue to brush your teeth gently and floss regularly, taking care not to irritate the sore. Use a Straw: If drinking tea or other beverages causes discomfort, consider using a straw to bypass the sore area. Remember, these suggestions are general and may not address the underlying cause of the sore inside your lip. If the sore persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms, seek professional medical advice for a proper evaluation and personalized treatment. It's essential to avoid self-diagnosis and over-the-counter medications without professional guidance, as they may not be suitable for your specific condition and could potentially cause further complications.

Do you have it any where else in your mouth? Did this area suffer any trauama? Or was it just an incidental finding while drinking tea? This could be a traumatic ulcer or an aphthous ulcer. If it just occurred on its own, that could be an aphthous ulcer and could reflect some underlying systemic issue. For that you can use Ointment Dologel locally before eating meals. Start a course of multi-vitamins, any brand, OD for a month.
Next Steps
Maintain oral hygiene. Avoid spicy food.
Health Tips
Watch if these ulcers are recurrent and else where in your oral cavity.
