I have a severe pain since last summer since I was training myself to work out by doing crunches and one fine day I may also have slipped on wet floor causing my legs to spread apart. Since then I am actually having this pain at the lower back left side just near the spine and above hips It's scaring me to workout now

You might have injured yourself during workout. Moreover when you slipped it is additional injury. The grade of injury will decide your treatment.
I have to assess you and then only treatment is to be started.
The injury could be muscles or in disc or ligaments.
