Severe backpain
My mother is suffering from severe back pain. Not able to walk properly. Right leg gets numb. We did her Whole spinal MRI and it says severe spinal canal stenosis. She is already suffering from partial paralysis due to brain haemorrhage 6 years back. She is also taking high BP tablets daily. Can anybody tell what should I do? Do we need to go for surgery and what will be the cost? Pl help.

Medical treatment and physical therapy can be tried for a few weeks if she doesn't have any neurological weakness. Cost of surgery and type of surgery can only be decided on seeing the MRI and x rays

Pain and numbness in Canal stenosis can be treated with or without surgery. Keeping in consideration about the medical  condition of your mother I won't recommend surgery at first . Special  block injection is available which can give relief. You should consult with old records and mri.
