Namaskaram, Usually a root canal treatment is done to a badly damaged tooth that involves infectious pulp (nerve tissue) . Sometimes we experience some pain and sensitivity even after the root canal is done which is common . It might take three to five days for the healing since RCT involves cleaning and debridement of the infectious pulp. Taking care of your teeth is a must, and you should avoid eating hard and crunchy foods until your pain comes down. Pain beyond your bearing capability should be addressed by your dentist.Team Shambhala.

It depends from case to case. At times patient stops feeling sensitivity immediately after the first appointment. At times it takes almost a week to 10 days post rct for it to subside. We always give a window period of 10 days after rct just to be sure there is no infection. Also after crown is given the sensitivity goes away.
Next Steps
keep area clean and don't miss any appointment
Health Tips
ask your dentist to apply a layer of desensitising agent before crown cementation. it will seal sensitivity.

No it’s not normal to feel any kind of. Sensitivity or pain in the root canal treated tooth even if capping is not done. So visit your dentist and do the needful till there is no pain in the tooth. Capping should be done after the completion of rct without any pain
