I have just completed my root canal treatment for a tooth 4 days back. The crown is also places. But I am still having sensitivity towards cold and hot food and drinks. Is it normal? What can be the reason?

Hello sir.. t depends because sensitivity is subjective. There should be no sensitivity to cold, and many patients experience no discomfort at all. If there was pain before treatment or treatment was complex, there is a possibility for discomfort to continue for 2-7 days after the treatment. In addition, when treatment requires two visits (ex: infection, re-treatment) and inter-visit medication is placed, there is possibility of sensitivity as well for 2-7 days However it may be sensitivity in the adjacent teeth..Kindly take x ray to rule out the cause
Next Steps
kindly visit dentist for furthur clinical examination and management

Sensitivity after rct is impossible if rct is perfect and it may be in adjacent tooth you are not able to find that so go for check up and x-ray once again.

Sensitivity after RCT is not possible maybe  its a neighbouring tooth you just visit to a dentist again and go through radiograph I am sure it will be neighbouring tooth.

Hello, slight sensitivity for few days after a root canal treatment is normal body takes time for complete healing. And because you have also got the crown placed so may be your gums are slightly inflamed that can lead to it. But if the sensitivity persists even after 7-10 days than visit the dentist again and get it checked clinically as well as radiographically. Thanks
Next Steps
wait for few more days.
Health Tips
visit the dentist if lt is not bearable.
