You can try a course of antidepressants. They improve the serotonin levels and by others ways and make you come out of depression, you can also simultaneously go for cognitive behavioral therapy if you like talk therapy. Consult an astute psychiatrist online or in person for remedy.

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. Loneliness after losing a life partner and having an empty home can be incredibly difficult, and it’s natural to seek ways to fill that emotional and physical void. For a while, seeking companionship in different ways gave you temporary relief, but once you stopped, the feelings of isolation and depression seem to have intensified. Right now, it’s important to focus on rebuilding emotional connection and finding purpose in daily life. The key is not just avoiding loneliness but actively replacing it with fulfilling experiences. Try reconnecting with old friends, joining social groups, or even engaging in activities like volunteering or hobbies that bring you joy. If you miss companionship, dating or meeting new people in a meaningful way could help, rather than isolating yourself. As Shri Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita, “You have the right to perform your duty, but never to the fruits of your actions. Do not be attached to the results, nor be attached to inaction.” This means that life is constantly changing, and we must keep moving forward, focusing on what we can do in the present rather than dwelling on what we’ve lost. Depression doesn’t just go away on its own, and since you’ve been feeling this way for about a year, therapy can really help in processing grief, finding emotional stability, and rediscovering joy in life.
