My cat bite me past a year ego ... I had tt injection for that ... Someone I scrolling insta reels they told rabies can take 5 years to occurs ... So it's possible to get rabies r can I go through vaccination now !?

Risk of Rabies from a Cat Bite (After 1 Year) If your cat was healthy 10–14 days after the bite, it did not have rabies at that time, and you are safe. Rabies has a variable incubation period, but a delay of 5 years is extremely rare. Most cases develop within weeks to months after exposure. 2. Should You Get Vaccinated Now? Post-exposure rabies vaccination (PEP) is only effective if given soon after a bite (within 10 days). Getting the vaccine now will not help if the virus was already introduced into your body a year ago. However, if you frequently handle animals or are at risk of another bite, pre-exposure vaccination may be beneficial. 3. What Should You Do? If you are completely symptom-free after one year, your chances of having rabies are virtually zero. If you experience neurological symptoms (tingling, confusion, fear of water, unusual behavior), seek medical attention immediately.
