Thyrotoxicosis is a hyper metabolic condition associated with elevated level of T3,T4 or both.
Hyperthyroidism includes diseases that are subset of thyrotoxicosis that caused by excess secretion of thyroid hormone .
Therefore hyperthyroid patients are thyrotoxic but thyrotoxic patients need not have an overactive thyroid and are therefore not actually hyperthyroid
