Question about ulgel
Doctor, I need your advice regarding my Ulgel-A suspension. The bottle was opened about 2 months ago and was kept indoors inside a polythene bag, with the cap closed. The bottle shows an expiry date of April 2027. The medicine looks white and smells normal. However, I noticed some black material around the outside of the cap. I could not understand whether it was simply dust/soil or something else, so I wiped it off. I have not used the medicine yet. Is the bottle safe to use, or should I discard it and get a new bottle?

Hi there. Please discard this bottle and do not consume it.
The labeled expiry date is only valid before opening. Liquid suspensions kept in closed polythene bags easily trap humidity, causing mold spores or microbial growth around the cap rim, regardless of whether the liquid inside appears intact. Ingesting it can trigger stomach upsets or infections.
