Are there any disadvantages of using protein supplement . My friend is taking protein powder as he goes to gym.

Whenever any protein supplement is used, it is very essential to use it with a lot of caution.
Too much can be harmful to your liver and kidneys.
Too little will not yield the right result,( muscle mass gain, weight gain etc).
If the person is a body builder, gym trainer or a sports enthusiast the protein requirement is 1.25g/ kg body weight needed per day.
See that through the day this is what is consumed and there should sufficient consumption of fluid other than protein in the diet everyday which is very important.
