I have had an issue of recurring fevers for 3-4 years now. I've consulted 2-3 doctors before, but nothing concrete came out of it.
Now recently, I've been having PCM and Cefixime 200 for about a week, but the condition is not getting better. I feel feverish, very tired at times, my palms and the feet are exceptionally warmer, the back of my head and neck is feeling very congested and heavy and my eyes also feel burning sensation a bit. The thing is, I have a very very significant and rigorous exam in 20 days, so cannot really spare a lot of time to visit hospitals t this point. Please help!!!

Health Tips
Please record the temperature with a thermometer and note down the reading. Feeling feverish is very different from actual fever spikes. Avoid taking antibiotics , before concluding on diagnosis..
As per your description you have had the problem for 3-4 years. So waiting for another 20 days will not make the condition worse.
Your description suggests that you have Fever of Unknown Origin. It needs many consultations with Doctors and a whole lot of investigations.
Please go to a Consultant Physician or visit a Multi-speciality Hospital
Don't take Cefixime as a "daily use" medicine.
Please share details of your symptoms, has fever been documented or you feel feverish?
Get cbp with esr, urine microscopic, x ray chest, done and share results, then I can help you further.
Hello. Having recurring feverish sensations for 3–4 years, especially without relief after a 7-day course of Cefixime and Paracetamol, indicates that this is unlikely to be a simple bacterial infection.
The symptoms you describe—warm palms/soles, fatigue, burning eyes, and neck heaviness—can often be linked to chronic low-grade inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, anemia, chronic stress/anxiety (with somatization/autonomic dysfunction due to exam pressure), or atypical chronic infections
.
Medical Guidance & Important Instructions:
Stop Unprescribed Antibiotics: Do not continue taking Cefixime 200 mg unless specifically advised by a doctor after fresh blood reports. Overusing antibiotics without a diagnosed bacterial strain can lead to resistance and gut flora imbalance.
Symptomatic Relief Only: Use Tab. Paracetamol 650 mg strictly SOS (as needed, maximum 2–3 times a day) if your measured body temperature exceeds 99.5°F or if you have severe body aches.
Multivitamin & Electrolyte Support: A basic antioxidant/multivitamin supplement (containing B-complex, Vitamin C, and Zinc) can help reduce chronic fatigue and eye strain during your study period.
Next Steps
Targeted Lab Investigation (Minimal Time Required): Since you have an upcoming exam and cannot spend hours at hospitals, arrange a home-collection blood test for the following basic panel:
Complete Blood Count (CBC) & ESR / CRPThyroid Profile (TSH, Free T3, Free T4)
Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination
Peripheral Blood Smear / Typhoid / Dengue screening (if acute fever spikes occur)
Tele-Consultation with Reports: Once the reports are available within 24 hours, schedule an online tele-consultation with me
Health Tips
Monitor with a Thermometer: Record your actual body temperature with a digital thermometer twice daily (morning and evening). Many times, feeling "feverish" with warm palms/feet can be a subjective sensation caused by stress or autonomic arousal rather than an actual spike in core body temperature.
Hydration & Eye Care: Drink at least 2.5–3 liters of water daily. Take short 5-minute breaks every hour during your study sessions to rest your eyes and stretch your neck/shoulders to relieve neck tension and heaviness.
Sleep Hygiene: Ensure at least 6 to 7 hours of continuous sleep. Exhaustion and sleep deprivation severely worsen body temperature regulation and cause eye burning/head heaviness.
Avoid Self-Medication: Steer clear of over-the-counter painkillers or extra antibiotics right before your exams.
Proper evaluation and personalised advice are needed for your concern. A detailed consultation would be best to provide accurate guidance.
