Fever for 3-4 days
My father has been having intermittent episodes of sporadic mild fever that starts with intense chills, for 3-4 days. A physician prescribed him paracetamol and an antibiotic(cefixime &). Every time he took those he felt relief for 6hs and then the same episode of chills followed by mild fever, started. He doesn't have any other symptom except fever(on the first day his fever was around 101 but after that it has stayed around 99), sudden onset of chills and slight weakness. Should we have him tested for dengue, typhoid, covid and get his platelet count done? Or should we wait and continue with paracetamol and antibiotic(I plan to give him probiotics as well to counter antibiotics)? What should we do? What could this possibly be? Could recommend a treatment plan?
