The upper incisor of my kids who are 5 years 10 months old broke off around 2 months back but the permanent tooth has not erupted yet. Their gum looks swollen (as if the tooth is starting to erupt out of it) and if I touch it, it hurts.
Is this normal( for permanent teeth to come out so late) or should we be worried

Don't worry ur kid permanent teeth starts erupting from age of years to 13 years ,except wisdom teeth, each teeth has certain age to erupt,in some kids delayed eruption may seen for 1-2 years ,no need to worry it is quite common
Dear patient ,
The ideal time for eruption of upper incisiors is 6-7 yrs. So you need not to worry about the delay. And swollen gums are a sign of tooth eruption which means the tooth is about to erupt in a few weeks.
Take care

Hello
Sir the upper permanent incisors erupt mostly around 7-9 years of age. The swelling which your are seeing is due to the trauma caused must have developed infection.
Xray needs to be taken of the affected tooth and further treatment needs to be done
