Problem after tooth filling
My brother recently had his molar teeth filling done(tooth coloured filling) three days ago. Post that he is experiencing mild to moderate pain in that tooth. The pain is not on chewing or having hot/cold items. The pain comes, Stays for a while and then goes. Is there any issue to be concerned about?

Hi. sometimes tooth colored fillings like composite get shrinkage problem and microgaps can be there. Other reason could be due to deep cavity that means, it can be close to nerve . All that can be diagonosed with the x ray only.
Next Steps
Consult a near by dentist
Health Tips
Brushing should be done regularly to avoid cavities.

Check for high point, visit d dentist and get it checked.  If it is composite filling  and  ur cavity is deep,  then post filling sensitivity may occur, wait for 8to 10days and if it still persists then visit ur dentist again.

Intermittent pain like what you are reporting after tooth filling, can occur because of premature contact or high point. In such case high point must be eliminated or reduced. Or this pain may occur if the cavity was already too deep and almost encroaching pulp tissue. In such cases the pain occurs due to pulpal irritation. Such situation must be addressed by a Root canal therapy of that particular tooth. Only filling won't suffice.

Consult with the same dentist. The chances are there either filling is little highly placed or its goes near your nerves inside your tooth. In first case simple reducing the height by the dentist will solve your problem, in second case if will need a root canal therapy (rct).

Many cases if the occlusion, that is the contact of filled tooth with opposite tooth is not adjusted properly. This can lead to intermittent pain. Or it might be a deep cavity close to the nerve of the tooth. Please ask your brother to visit his dentist and get the filling checked for any of such possibilities

Hello sir,  Good day. The cavity might be deep, in such conditions only there will be disturbances after filling also... Have to confirm with the X-Ray... If it is deep ROot canal treatment is the option.

There might be a possibility that caries has reached to pulp. This can only be confirmed after looking onto the x ray of the patient
