My wife is 17 weeks pregnant. Yesterday plain brown discharge came after which she was admitted to hospital then after taking pause medicine she was discharged and discharge stops after that. At 15 weeks her amniotic fluid volume was SVP 1.9 cm. Has a history of miscarriage at 19 weeks 2 years ago. Cervical length is 3.5 cm. I want to know if it is normal or not

First need to know the reason of previous miscarriage. Since there is already a history need to be more careful, so discharge might not be normal. Progesterone support and bloodiness be required. Repeated scans may be needed to monitor more closely, a more deep history of the women and her family details might be needed, so it's better to consult and give a proper history, a proper check up and all reports and even physical checkup to localise the bleeding.
Brown discharge during pregnancy is never normal. She should get her sonography of the lower abdomen done and consult a Gynaecologist with the report.
She should take adequate rest and progesterone supplements.
For details she should consult a Gynaecologist.
Obs USG should be done if there is brown discharge.Sometimes placenta present in lower uterine can cause bleeding or blood stained discharge. As pt is having previous history of abortion she should be investigated properly. Some Progesterone support is also required. Cervical length 3.5 cm is Ok.
Need to see the scan mainly the location of
the placenta. If the placenta is situated in the
lower aspect of uterus then more chances of
bleeding.Much care is needed.If it's not
nothing to worry.
