Pointed canines
Respected Sir /Ma'am, I have my canines pointed from childhood. It doesn't look good when I smile. Sometimes it hurts the apsthous ulcers on the inner alveolar margins by being more pointed. How can I get it recontoured and what will be the cost. Thanking you

Canine is a tooth with pointed anatomy. But if it is causing discomfort you can definitely get it aligned. If pointed edge is the problem a simple enameloplasty can be performed wherein the edge will be rounded off. If it will require a deep trimming then a cap will be advised but if the trim is more than 2mm and has risk of approaching pulp- RCT will help. If the problem is with the orientation or the canine is malpositioned an orthodontic correction is recommended. However a thorough examination is necessary to plan the treatment better
