I have chronic jaw pain under the ear which I had MRI and CT scans. Oral surgeon said everything normal but have this jaw pain for 4 years now.
I had pain in tooth #46 for tapping, biting , pressing etc. took cbct scans and it was normal but the tooth was very painful to touch. Extracted that tooth as they suspect something that it could be the reason for jaw pain.
It didn't help with jaw pain after extraction. I still have pain in jaw. Now tooth #47 starts to hurt. I always get bad tartar plaque buildup on 47. Attaching pics. I had SRP twice. I do floss and brush regularly. Other teeth are fine except this #47.
It gets tartar buildup always and end up in getting SRP for whole mouth for this reason.
Tartar buildup on this tooth irrespective of flossing. Gum is inflamed.tooth and gum hurts immediately if I start brushing.
It hurts if I touch that gum by fingers. Does it mean if I have any infection since it's getting tartar buildup always?
How to resolve this? dentist said to ext.

Hi,
The x-ray and picture shared do not show any major abnormality with the tooth. Get a routine dental cleaning every 6 months.
Are you having any clicking noise while opening the mouth?
Are you having any difficulty chewing?
Please share your MRI and CT scan reports.
There is no need to extract tooth no. 47.
