One tooth getting plaque buildup always
Tooth 47 always get tartar/ plaque buildup on it. I had deep cleaning twice in the last year. My last deep cleaning (SRP) was 3 weeks ago in December. It was cleaned on that day and now I am seeing tartar buildup on that tooth gum. Only on that tooth gum alone..rest of the teeth are fine and no buildup. I also have lower jaw pain for 4 years and no diagnosis given after MRI and CT. Tooth 46 was removed only because of the jaw pain as Dr wanted to try extraction to see if it helps with jaw pain. As tooth 46 was painful for tapping. Extracted it last year and no changes. Same symptoms persist. Now he is telling me to extract this tooth 47 too.As this tooth 47 /gum hurts if I touch with fingers and hurts for brushing.Gum looks puffy swollen than test of the gums. Only this tooth has this much tartar buildup not others. I am doing deep cleaning every 4 months because of this tooth buildup. It hurts for cleaning too. Within a month, got bad buildup. Do I need to extract this tooth.

Hi ! Tooth extraction is not advised as the tooth is healthy and I can’t see any reason to extract a healthy tooth . Change in brushing technique is recommended. Also I need more information regarding nature of pain and location of pain so as to guide you to a correct treatment.

No need to extract the tooth, but I can see the gums are gone down and there is space where there is tartar build up, in my opinion it should be prepared and can place a bridge it will cover 46 also and protect 47, this might help with the tartar build up . And I feel you have teeth grinding habit, will have to check for that once, You can take appointment for further check up and treatment

Hi, You need to take extra precaution while brushing that area of your mouth. Also, the tooth looks fine in the X-ray and I would not suggest removal of the tooth.
