There is plaque and tartar buildup on your teeth, which can contribute to the rough feeling on the inner side of your teeth. Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth throughout the day, and if not properly removed, it can harden into tartar, which is a calcified deposit. Tartar cannot be removed by regular brushing and flossing alone and requires professional cleaning by a dentist or dental hygienist. While it's important to visit your dentist in India for a thorough cleaning, there are steps you can take at home to help manage the plaque and tartar buildup in the meantime: Brushing technique: Ensure you're using a soft-bristled toothbrush and brushing your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time. Use gentle, circular motions and pay attention to all surfaces of your teeth, including the inner side. Flossing: Floss daily to remove plaque and debris from between your teeth and along the gumline. This helps prevent tartar formation in these hard-to-reach areas. Mouthwash: Consider using an antibacterial mouthwash after brushing and flossing to further reduce bacteria in your mouth. Look for a mouthwash that contains fluoride to help strengthen your teeth. Tartar control toothpaste: Look for toothpaste specifically formulated to control tartar. These toothpastes often contain ingredients like pyrophosphates that help prevent tartar buildup. Maintain a healthy diet: Limit sugary and starchy foods as they contribute to plaque formation. Instead, focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day can also help wash away food particles and bacteria. It's important to note that while these measures can help manage plaque and tartar to some extent, professional cleaning by a dentist or dental hygienist is essential for thorough removal. So, when you have the opportunity to visit India, make sure to schedule a dental cleaning appointment. Remember, maintaining good oral hygiene practices and regular dental check-ups are key to keeping your teeth and gums healthy.

(1) Deposits on the teeth that need to be removed. The softer deposits can be removed with your toothbrush and floss but the harder deposits need professional care. So get thorough cleaning of your teeth done. You need to visit a dentist / dental hygeinist. (2) Regular twice-a-day brushing, especially before going to bed. (3) Avoid sticky carbs. You also have recession of gums in relation to the two central incisors and left lateral incisor. You need to visit a periodontist to deal with these and get the roots covered.
Next Steps
Twice a day tooth brushing using correct technique and inter-dental flossing. Proper diet and avoiding sticky carbohydrates. Professional dental cleaning Specialist/ Periodontists help to treat gingival recession.

Hi, In the picture I can see a combination of plaque, calculus and stains on your teeth. If it's present on the anterior aspect (where brushing/ cleaning is comparatively easy) then it must definitely be present on the posterior aspect ( where brushing/cleaning is relatively difficult). That's what feels rough on the inner side of your teeth. There are a variety of reasons for deposits on your teeth to start suddenly. Moving to uk, lack of sleep, stress, change in food habits etc. Most of the time it's a gradual process, you just notice it when it starts becoming uncomfortable. To get rid of it completely you need to get it cleaned. In the meantime start brushing twice daily. Use a toothpaste with bicarbonate at night. Use a chlorhexidine mouthwash for a week not more. Rinse mouth with warm saline water after meal.
Next Steps
If there is any pain, bleeding or foul smell from mouth visit dentist.
Health Tips
Eat foods like fruits and corn which need chewing more than normal. These foods tend to naturally remove deposits with friction upto a certain extent.
