Persistent PIH on chin
I have persistent PIH on my chin following a chemical burn approximately 3 years ago.
Initially, the affected skin became very thick, leathery, inflamed, and dark. Over time, with treatment, the inflammation and thickening resolved, but I am left with a persistent dark patch that is slightly different in texture from the surrounding skin. It is occasionally dry and flaky but is not itchy, painful, or actively inflamed.
Treatments I have already tried include:
- Fluticasone
- Tacrolimus
- Hydroquinone (caused dryness without improvement)
- Tretinoin (made the pigmentation worse)
- Azelaic acid (caused burning and worsening pigmentation)
- Pico laser (no significant improvement)
The pigmentation has become slightly smaller over time but has largely plateaued.
I would like a second opinion and guidance on this
