Permanent tooth not erupting.
It's been a month and a half since the upper incisor tooth fell for my son naturally. The new teeth did not erupt at all. The gum looks intact and no signs of new teeth. Is this a red flag and requires a doctor visit in person ?

Dear practo user Don't panic Can wait fo 6 to 12 months more. Can consult specialist dentist for ways to augment tooth eruption and location of embedded tooth.

Upper front teeth erupt by 7-8 years of age. So it will be taking time to even show any signs of eruption buldge. Nothing to worry at all.

Hi! No need to worry. Permanent teeth can often take 6-8 months to erupt. Meanwhile maintain good oral hygiene and observe for another 2-3 months. If there is still no sign of a bulge or an erupting tooth, an x-ray would help to determine it's position and estimated time of eruption.
Next Steps
Wait and watch for 2-3 months and get an x-ray of the required tooth if it is still unerupted.

Considering the age there is no need to worry atleast for 6 months to 1 year. If you dont see any signs of the eruption then an x ray might be needed for evaluation. The general eruption age for upper incisor is 7-8 years so no need to worry until this time.
