Is this report normal? Ive been having palpitations and pain in my left hand and chest for a week now.
The palpitations reduce when i take my sos tablet clonazepam. But the hand pain is severe. The ecg says abnormal but when I sent it to my doctor he said it's normal and that there's nothing to worry because I've been dealing with panic attacks for years now and it's likely due to that. Please please help.

There are different types of anxiety, and symptoms can vary depending on the situation. It's possible that your anxiety was heightened when you got your ECG done, but by the time you visited the doctor, the intensity may have reduced, which is why the results seemed normal.
It would be helpful for you to consult a psychiatrist to understand the nature and severity of your anxiety. Once that is assessed, you can begin therapy with a psychologist to support your emotional well-being and help you manage symptoms more effectively.
Hi.. panic attacks can present in a similar fashion. Will need further details regarding the same like the medicines you are taking, duration of symptoms etc. medicines and relaxation techniques can help. Consult online for further evaluation and management
For anxiety( panic Disorder), you are taking medication for years. If you are worried regarding ECG changes and pain in your chest and hand, you can take the opinion of a cardiologist for reassurance as they are specialised for such minor and subtle findings in ECG, You continue medications for your anxiety and take an opinion of a cardiologist once
🧠 My Opinion (As a Psychiatrist):
From your description, it seems like your palpitations and chest discomfort are likely being triggered or worsened by panic attacks and underlying anxiety, especially since your symptoms respond to clonazepam. However, severe left hand and chest pain must always be evaluated thoroughly to rule out any cardiac cause—even if your ECG is interpreted as "normal" by your physician. Panic attacks can mimic heart issues but we should never assume this without a proper evaluation.
Next Steps
🔍 Next Step (What Should the Patient Do Next):
1. Kindly consult a cardiologist once to rule out cardiac causes (including angina or coronary artery issues), especially if your symptoms are persistent or worsening.
2. If cardiac causes are ruled out, then a structured treatment plan for panic disorder is essential — which may include medications and/or psychotherapy like CBT.
3. You can consult a psychiatrist like me to personalize your treatment, reduce SOS medication use, and manage your anxiety holistically.
Health Tips
⚠️ Helpful Tips / Word of Caution:
Never ignore chest or left arm pain, even if you're young or have panic disorder — always get a cardiac evaluation first.
Avoid excessive use of clonazepam without psychiatric supervision, as it can cause dependency and reduce effectiveness over time.
Practice daily deep breathing, grounding, and relaxation exercises — these can help reduce panic frequency.
