If the local temperature is normal to feel and the warmth is a feeling of pain, then it's patellofemoral pain secondary to patella malalignment at the patellofemoral joint. This is due to strength imbalances between the muscles controlling the same secondary to prolonged sitting in awkward knee angles.
Next Steps
sit and work in an ergonomic manner, avoid prolonged sitting and get necessary treatment.
Health Tips
we can do a teleconsultation if you want.

Hello dear Thanks for reaching out. Severe knee pain at your age needs prompt attention. Your knee cartilage is probably getting weak and could lead to more problems later on if not addressed promptly. You need to be clinically examined in person to ascertain whats wrong. Thanks Dr Vipin Gupta
Next Steps
Consult me at the hospital/clinic in person.

You need further evaluation. Please consult near by Ortho dr in person. Pain in the front of the knee is mostly due to patellar maltracking. Do VMO exercises - it will help.

Needs more evaluation and imaging. Could be patellofemoral pain but more history needed for further management
