Pain in gums & redness after scaling
I had scaling and Polishing last week [8 Jun]. Before this, i already had RCT of my teeth long back. Now after scaling, on RCT side, I am having pain in between gum and cheek wall. There seems a cut and white spot on that point. After checking it myself, there is redness in the affected area. It is hurting even after i am drinking water.  I have tried dollo and Rexidin-M for last 2 days but there is still no improvement. What should i do?

Hello mam. I understand your concern. As per your given history it looks like traumatic ulcer. It often heals on its own and lasts for 5-7 days. It has nothing to do with scaling procedure you underwent few days back. You can apply Zytee ointment for painrelief
Next Steps
Zytee ointment for relief
Health Tips
Avoid spicy , hot food

Based on the photo and history, this appears to be a localized traumatic ulcer or soft tissue irritation, which can occasionally occur after scaling/polishing or due to accidental cheek biting/friction from the tooth. Such ulcers usually heal within 7–14 days.
Next Steps
Continue maintaining oral hygiene and avoid spicy, hot, or hard foods that may aggravate the area. If the pain is severe, the ulcer increases in size, swelling develops, or there is no improvement within a week, please visit your dentist for a clinical examination, as an in-person assessment is required to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other causes.

As the picture suggests the ulcer might be due to the sharp edges of your cap which is exposed while doing scaling. For symptomatic relief you can use orasore gel which will help you in pain relief. If the ulcer persists for more than 2-3 days please visit to the nearest dentist for the needful treatment.
Next Steps
Try to maintain good oral hygiene from your end and avoid any food lodgement on the RCT treated side.
Health Tips
Please visit the nearest dentist if it prolongs for more than 3 days

Hello, Based on your description, it appears that the area may have become irritated after scaling, resulting in a small ulcer or minor soft tissue injury. This can occasionally happen, especially around teeth that have undergone Root Canal Treatment (RCT) or where significant deposits were removed. The pain, redness, and white patch you are noticing are often associated with a healing ulcer. Continue maintaining good oral hygiene and avoid spicy, hot, or hard foods for a few days. You may rinse gently with warm salt water 3–4 times daily. If prescribed by your dentist, continue using the mouthwash as directed. However, since the pain is persisting and causing discomfort even while drinking water, I would recommend a clinical examination to rule out any localized infection, traumatic ulcer, or gum inflammation around the treated tooth. Most such lesions heal within 7–10 days. If the pain increases, swelling develops, or the ulcer does not improve, please visit a dentist for evaluation.
Next Steps
If ulcer persists for more than 2 weeks, visit to the dentist.
