Dear human, thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern. It's understandable that you are experiencing disturbance in your sleep and digestion due to anxious thought process because anxiety can manifest itself physically too. If your anxiety is not related to a particular person or situation then it might be generalized anxiety disorder. There could be various reasons for the anxiety you are facing. It could be due to stress, environmental stressors, depression, or even any traumatic experience(s).
Here are a few tips that might help you cope better-
1. Keep a journal handy and put your thoughts down as is, whenever you are in the midst of such thoughts.
2. Exercising is a great aide in keeping yourself from engaging in troublesome thoughts. You don’t have to per se join a gym if you don’t want to but light stretches, some breathing exercises would do the job too.
3. Eat good food, whatever seems to pleasure you. At this point, it’s important that you take care of your basic needs first and eventually proceed to other self-care exercises.
4. Keep a check on the number of hours you can sleep and sleep for at least 5-6 hours if not more.
Anxiety is mostly related to your thought process where you formulate "What-if scenarios for upcoming situations and feel anxious about it. In order to resolve this, we need to identify your negative and irrational thought patterns and modify it. This can be done through therapy where your negative thought patterns are identified and replaced with positive and realistic ones. Anxiety cannot be completely cured, you can only learn to manage it efficiently for which therapy would help you.
